On 18 Aug 2012 approximately 5,000 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in East Africa participated in individual community projects for a day of service. In the Dar es Salaam District, Tanzania our District had the opportunity to plant 100 fruit trees around a newly built elementary school and Police Station in the new community recently developed for 8,000 people displaced after floods destroyed their homes during last year's rainy season.
